Wajahat Khan and Allegri Quartet

Wajahat Khan Quintet - for sarod and string quartet: In this pioneering, award-winning collaboration of two great classical music traditions, the renowned sarod virtuoso and composer Ustad Wajahat Khan performs with the celebrated Allegri String Quartet, who this year mark their 60th anniversary with 'Raag Desh for sarod and string quartet' - composed by Wajahat Khan. The programme also includes traditional ragas by the maestro on sarod with tabla & tanpura, as well as Beethoven's famous Quartet Opus 18 No 4 by the Allegri Quartet. Ustad Wajahat Khan will be performing a unique jugalbandi concert with renowned Indian painter Shri Manav Gupta , raising funds for charity at the Pratham Celebrity Gala hosted at the Grosvenor House Marriott in London Mayfair, on Saturday 28th of September . Wajahat Khan's performance will be followed by a fashion show by India's renowned designer Manish Malhotra , with some leading Bollywood actors and celebrities gracing the occasion to celebrate - 100 years of Indian cinema.
